How to identify a car part by conditions

There are several conditions can be filter out to identify a car part, the details are as below,

1. Choose Car brand.

There are many car brands, such as Ford, Buick (General motor), Jeep, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, KIA, etc. In each country market, the popular brands many be different. Most of these car OEMs are global companies and selling in the global market. In this case, the car parts are identical in different markets from the same brand.

2. Choose Car model.

Each car brand has their car models, usually, there is facelift each year and regeneration in 3 to 5 years. For example, Ford Focus, it is a popular globalize car model and selling in American, Europe and Asia markets. The original Focus was primarily designed by Ford of Europe's German and British teams. Production of the fourth generation Focus began in 2018 in Germany and China.

3. Choose model year.

Since there will be facelift and new generation in 3 to 5 years, some of the parts will be different with the platform upgrade, especially the engine related parts. Choose the correct model year, such as 2003 of your cars, this will help to identity the correct car parts in the respective year.

4. Choose car part name.

Such a Wiper motor. Sometimes, it will also need to choose the Engine with displacement to identify an engine related part.

5. Choose the car part OE number.

Each OEM has their own rules to name car part, in this case the car part can be found based on OE numbers from OEM or by interchange number from other brand manufactures.

6. Choose the Vehicle Identification Number

Usually, there is database from car OEM and the related car parts can be identified by Vehicle Identification Number from the database. There are many suppliers of this database, such as TecAlliance.

Once the car part is identified, it can be searched from Google or online shops to purchase a replacement part. Many shops and brand manufacturers are supporting to find a car part based on these conditions, such as eBay, Amazon, etc.
